Located on 120 acres of the former Fitzpatrick property, The Brampton East Library and Community Centre is now well under construction and is expected to be completed by the end of Fall 2012.

The building is composed of a 35,000 square foot Library, and a 35,000 square foot Community Centre. Included in the community centre is a gymnasium, complete with bleacher seating, changing rooms, a fitness room and a fit zone, as well as differently sized program spaces to allow for flexibility of use.
Outdoor amenities include a reading garden, basketball courts, and an accessible playground on an access road, parking, site services, all of which will be brought together with beautiful landscaping.
This building received a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification. LEED certified buildings follow design and construction practices that significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment.
